How are you doing today? xxx
There comes a moment in life when your heart becomes tired of carrying things it was never meant to carry forever.
It could be a relationship you desperately wanted to work, a friendship that slowly faded, a dream that did not unfold as you imagined, or a version of yourself you have outgrown. Whatever it is, letting go can feel like losing a piece of yourself, especially when you have invested so much love, time, hope, and emotion into keeping it alive.
But, dear heart, what if letting go is not losing? What if it is finally making room for yourself?
Sometimes, the most loving thing you can do is stop holding on to what is hurting you.
We often hold on because we remember how beautiful things once were. We replay old conversations, revisit memories, and wonder what we could have done differently. We keep hoping that perhaps one more conversation, one more chance, or one more sacrifice will change everything.
And before we realise it, we have become so busy trying to save what we had that we forget to take care of who we are becoming.
The truth is, not everything that enters your life is meant to stay forever. Some people come to teach you about love. Others teach you about boundaries. Some experiences reveal your strength, while others show you the importance of choosing yourself.
You can appreciate what something meant to you without forcing it to remain part of your future.
Letting go does not mean you never cared. It means you are learning that caring for someone or something should not require abandoning yourself.
And please remember, healing is rarely a straight line. Some days, you will feel free. You will wake up with a lighter heart, smile without forcing it, and realise that the thing you once cried over no longer controls your entire day.
Then, unexpectedly, a song will play, a familiar place will bring back memories, or a quiet evening will make you miss what you thought you had moved beyond.
That does not mean you are failing.
It means you are human.
Give yourself permission to grieve what you hoped would be. You do not have to pretend that it never mattered. You do not have to rush your healing to prove that you are strong. Sometimes, strength looks like crying, resting, praying, asking for help, and choosing to try again tomorrow.
You are allowed to miss someone and still know that distance is necessary. You are allowed to love the memories and accept that the present is different. You are allowed to forgive without reopening the door. And you are allowed to walk away from situations that repeatedly cost you your peace.
Life has a gentle way of reminding us that closed doors are not always punishments. Sometimes, they are invitations to explore new paths, discover forgotten dreams, and meet the person we are becoming.
So, if you are standing at the difficult intersection between holding on and letting go, take a deep breath.
You do not need to have every answer today. You only need the courage to take the next small step towards peace.
Release the guilt. Release the need to understand every ending. Release the belief that your worth depends on who chooses you, who stays, or who recognises your value.
You were worthy before they arrived. You are worthy while they are gone. And you will remain worthy as you begin again.
Dear heart, you can honour yesterday without living there.
Let today be the day you stop punishing yourself for what you could not change. Let it be the day you give yourself the same compassion you have spent so long giving everyone else.
And when the time comes, you may look back and realise that letting go did not leave you empty. It created space for peace, growth, healthier love, and a life that feels more like your own.
Sometimes, the beginning of a beautiful new chapter looks like an ending you never wanted.
Let go gently, dear one. You have carried enough.
You deserve a life where your heart can finally rest.
A gentle reminder: You do not have to stop caring overnight. You only have to stop believing that holding on is the only way to prove that you cared.
Take your time. Choose peace. And trust yourself enough to begin again.
Much Love,
