Background

The Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court has granted the United Kingdom’s Mutual Legal Assistance to South Africa request for the handover of electronic devices seized from triple-murder accused Ndodana Tshuma. The 46-year-old is wanted in the UK on three counts of murder. It is alleged that he murdered his wife and two children in Bedford, Bedfordshire, in July this year. The National Prosecuting Authority says Tshuma’s cellphone will be handed over to the UK authorities to assist with their investigations. His extradition proceedings have been postponed to 7 December.
