How happy are you today??
We briefly spoke about Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month on Mind, Body and Green this morning and thought to leave this with you.
June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month a time dedicated to shining a light on an often-overlooked topic: the mental health challenges men face every day. It’s a call to break down the walls of stigma, silence, and misunderstanding that too often keep men from getting the help and support they deserve.
Why Men’s Mental Health Matters
Mental health is just as vital as physical health, but for many men, acknowledging emotional struggles can feel like admitting weakness. Society’s expectations of “being strong” and “toughing it out” can prevent men from speaking openly about anxiety, depression, loneliness, or stress. This silence comes at a cost — men are more likely to suffer in silence and face higher risks of suicide and untreated mental illness.
The Hidden Struggles
Men’s mental health issues often look different. Instead of sadness, men might show irritability, anger, or withdrawal. They might turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms like substance abuse or push themselves relentlessly to work through the pain. Because these signs are less recognized, many men don’t get the support they need early on.

How We Can Help
Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month is more than just a moment to recognize the problem it’s a movement to change the narrative:
-
Encourage open conversations. Checking in with the men in our lives and truly listening can make a world of difference.
-
Challenge stereotypes. Real strength lies in vulnerability and seeking help.
-
Promote resources. Therapy, support groups, and community programs are here to support mental wellness.
-
Prioritize self-care. Physical activity, creative outlets, healthy relationships, and rest are vital.
To every man struggling in silence: you are not alone. Your feelings are valid, and your mental health matters deeply. Asking for help is a sign of courage, not weakness.
As we honor Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s commit to lifting each other up — to breaking the silence, spreading understanding, and embracing a future where every man feels supported, heard, and valued.
Just a reminder, King’s:
You are more than my struggles, you are resilient and capable.
You deserve peace, happiness, and mental well-being.
Vulnerability is a powerful form of courage.
Much Love,
