After featuring Jeiyo on Paula’s Playlist, I have compiled a list of things you may not know about the GMP singer/producer:
- He fell in love with music at a young age.
Jeiyo was as young as 10 when he discovered his love for music. Growing up in a Christian household he joined the church choir, and took on not only basic guitar lessons but piano as well.
- Jeiyo was part of a music crew in High School.
In High School Jeiyo took music more seriously and got into music production. He joined a group called Emblems and together they performed at various shows.
- Jeiyo produces his own music
The singer not only produces, but mixes and masters most of his songs, a process he describes as “a lot of work”. However, for some of the tracks on his upcoming project, he will be working with a few other producers, including labelmates Dj Shoza and Pex Africa. He says it’s in order to create a different feel and for a more versatile project.
Speaking on why he’s been quiet these past few years, Jeiyo says he has been on the low “working on himself”. The singer says he has been sharpening his skills and working on his confidence within the music scene
- Jeiyo promises to deliver.
Jeiyo says with his upcoming project he wants to “give the people the Jeiyo they deserve and it doesn’t come over night”. He says he had to do a lot of self-investment , and wants to give his fans quality music and “come back a better version, consistent and a better Jeiyo”.
