Stop Doubting Yourself!

I am big on conversations around self-love but this time I want to switch it up and hit another pain point, self-doubt. According to Webster doubt is defined as a lack of confidence in, to call into question the truth of, to be uncertain, to consider unlikely, and it can even mean fear. It is 2023 and we are not about to let doubt stop us from being great. Doubt yourself? King? Queen? don’t do that.  

I have been trying my hardest to be great, but Chile let me tell you. The struggle is real, and the doubt is even realer. Sometimes I feel like I have taken on more than I can bear. I be like, “who do I think I am?” My struggle is that I went from being all “I believe I can fly,” to now feeling like I can’t even walk. I doubt myself on everything my mind comes up with. New business idea? Here comes doubt shutting it down. Maybe I should do this or do that? Quickly doubt hits me with a strong no! Sometimes before I can finish the thought, I am reminding myself of why I can’t possibly do it or how there are so many other people doing the same thing so what is the point…  

When I do put things out just know it’s the result of a battle between me and doubt. And those are the times when I leave with the victory. It’s not always easy, in fact it’s never easy. I’ve gotten kind of exhausted from this fight, so I decided that doubt and I cannot reside in the same space. Somebody has to go, and I choose to stay. 

Deciding to start believing in me enough to tell doubt kick rocks has been a life changing experience. Do I still have moments when doubt manifests itself? Of course, but now I’m confident that I have what it takes to be all that I am supposed to be. I’ve learned that doubt is a killer of dreams and that’s one homicide I just cannot allow.  

I was scrolling through Pinterest and saw a quote with these life changing words and let me tell you and I’m still shook, “you’re busy doubting yourself while others are intimidated by your full potential.” WHEW!  

If that wasn’t enough to get my act together then I don’t think anything will. “You better believe while you are out here battling the inner workings of yourself, someone else is out here big mad because they see you. They see you! They see you the way you should see you. I had to let that sink in for a minute. Don’t allow doubt to murder your dreams and assault your reality. So, for the longessssssst time I have always had a dream of becoming an Esthetician and one day opening and running my own business and I was talked myself out of it then last week I finally did a course and sis is now a qualified Lash Technician and that is just one of many things we are going for this year that we have allowed doubt to steal from us.  

Here I am to give you this shake Sis, “you out here doubting yourself when Sis over there intimidated by YOUR full potential.” Don’t let that go over your head. You doubting yourself? Sis don’t do that. You Got This! Now go make some magic! Tell doubt girl to the left to the left and give birth to the ideas, goals and plans you’ve convinced yourself will never manifest. 

Now that you’ve been shook, what are you going to do? Are you going to continue to allow doubt to keep you hidden? I sure hope not, because I see you! It only counts if you see you though.
