YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT!

todaySeptember 9, 2026

Background

Social media can make it look like everyone has life figured out. Someone is graduating, someone is getting married, someone just bought a car, someone is travelling, and someone else is launching a business.

Meanwhile, you might be sitting there thinking: “What am I doing with my life?”

And sometimes, that pressure can become overwhelming.

September is Suicide Awareness Month, a reminder that mental health matters and that behind the smiles, jokes and “I’m fine” messages, someone could be struggling silently.

For young people especially, life can feel like a constant race — finding a job, passing exams, dealing with relationships, family expectations, money problems, heartbreak, loneliness and trying to figure out who you are.

But here’s the thing: you don’t have to struggle alone.

🗣️ Let’s make checking in normal

Sometimes the most powerful question you can ask someone is simply:

“How are you REALLY doing?”

Not the quick “I’m good” question. The real one.

Listen without immediately judging, lecturing or trying to fix everything. Sometimes people need a safe space to speak before they need advice.

❤️ And if YOU are struggling…

Please know that having a difficult season does not mean you have failed at life.

You are allowed to ask for help.
You are allowed to not be okay.
You are allowed to take things one day at a time.

Whether you’re a student, young professional, entrepreneur, artist, parent, unemployed, employed, single, in a relationship, part of the LGBTQ+ community, living with a disability, or simply trying to find your place in the world — your mental health matters.

Let’s also remember that suicide prevention isn’t only about having serious conversations. It’s about building communities where people feel seen, heard, valued and supported.

So this month, check on your people. Put down the jokes for a minute. Send that message. Make that call. Sit with someone. And if you’re struggling, reach out to someone you trust or a qualified mental-health professional.

You don’t have to have your whole life figured out today.

Sometimes, getting through today is enough.
