The International University of Management (IUM) founder, Professor David Namwandi, has cautioned the higher learning institution’s first-year students against plagiarism and instead opt for originality in the pursuit of their qualifications.

Professor Namwandi made the call at IUM’s opening ceremony of the 2025 academic year.

Professor Namwandi, who is also the chairman of the IUM governing council, informed the first years that the institution believes in originality and that IUM is determined to make a difference.

Namwandi further thanked the government through the former presidents as well as the incoming president for having supported the institution since its inception.

IUM 2025 SRC president Ridge Kheimseb raised the concern of the boy child being left behind in academics, noting that mentorship of male students at the institutions is among his goals for this year.

Namwandi added that the institution is transforming its students in order for them to transform their villages, their towns, the regions, and the global village.
