Pope Leo XIV has urged “every Catholic parish in the world to take part in World Mission Sunday,” to be held on 19 October, under the theme “Missionaries of Hope Among the Peoples.”
The Pope recalled the assistance he received as a missionary priest and bishop in Peru, noting that the whole church prayed in unison for missionaries and the fruitfulness of their apostolic labors.
He emphasised that every prayer would help spread the gospel, adding that support is needed for pastoral and catechetical programs, to build new churches and care for the health and educational needs of brothers and sisters in mission territories.
