Oshikoto Regional Governor Sacky Kathindi has inaugurated four newly constructed boreholes in the villages of Akazulu, Onelao, Otatashe, and Oshikondeilwa. The water project, valued at N$25 million, was officially commissioned on Monday.

Speaking at the event, Kathindi said the Regional Council, together with central government, is intensifying efforts to improve the well-being of communities by ensuring essential services are brought closer to residents.

“The commissioning of this borehole is not the end of our journey; it forms part of a broader, ongoing commitment to securing water access for every household in our region,” Kathindi said.

He affirmed his dedication to mobilising resources, strengthening partnerships, and driving development initiatives that uplift people across all constituencies.

Kathindi emphasised that many villages, farms, and public institutions still struggle with unreliable water access, adding that the situation calls for urgent and well-coordinated action.

The governor also urged communities to take care of the new infrastructure, noting that it symbolises teamwork between government, traditional authorities, local leaders, technical teams, and residents who made the project possible.

“Let this project serve not only as a source of water, but also as a source of pride and unity. May these boreholes stand as a beacon of hope and a reminder of what we can achieve when we work together,” he said.
