Namcor’s N$53m claim against Enercon, back in court

todayOctober 29, 2026

Background

High Court Justice Shafimana Ueitele has ordered the liquidator of Enercon Namibia to appear before the court today. The directive was issued during proceedings involving Namcor and Enercon. The company seeks to have its asset purchase agreement with Enercon declared null and void and seeks payment of N$53 million. Ueitele ordered liquidator AP van Straten to appear today to provide a formal update regarding Enercon’s liquidation status. The background to Enercon’s massive liabilities, which total hundreds of millions of Namibian dollars, stems from a mixture of non-payment for state fuel supplies, defaulted institutional development loans, severe tax arrears, and operational collapse following the loss of major government contracts.
