NamCor holds public consultation on Offshore Venus Field

The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NamCor) and its partners are holding public consultations in Windhoek as part of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the Offshore Venus Field.

According to NamCor spokesperson Paulo Coelho, the engagement is a legal requirement under Namibia’s environmental regulations and aims to involve communities and stakeholders in evaluating potential impacts of the project.

The Venus Discovery is expected to operate for around 25 years and could create over 5,800 jobs. The consultation sessions provide the public with an opportunity to learn about the project, ask questions, and share their views.
