Information and Communication and Technology has condemned all forms of tribalism and discrimination directed at Miss Universe Namibia 2025 Johanna Swartbooi.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, acting executive director Linda Iipinge said such behaviour goes against the values of unity, dignity and national pride upheld by the nation.

Iipinge urged Namibians to support Swartbooi and recognise her accomplishments as she prepares to represent the country on the global stage.

“As a people we must remember that we are Namibian first, united beyond tribe, culture and background. Let us continue to support her wholeheartedly and remind her that her country stands firmly behind her,” said Iipinge.

Through the Nationhood and National Pride Programme, launched in 2011 by former president Hifikepunye Pohamba, Iipinge said the ministry fully supports Swartbooi and will work with the NBC to ensure she receives the necessary backing as she carries the Namibian flag internationally.
