Four suspected robbers were arrested early Wednesday in Windhoek’s Rocky Crest suburb after a police chase ended with their getaway vehicle overturning, authorities said.
According to the Wondhoek City Police, the suspects attempted to flee in a Nissan Note before losing control of the vehicle. Witnesses said residents intervened and quickly alerted nearby patrol officers, who pursued and apprehended the suspects at the scene.
Police recovered multiple number plates, knives, and screwdrivers from the vehicle — items believed to be linked to previous crimes committed across the city.

City Police Sergeant Kavekotoka Humvindu praised the community’s swift action, adding that public cooperation remains critical in preventing and solving crime.
One of the suspects, identified by witnesses as “Koppe,” is reportedly known to own a Mazda Demio, which police are investigating in connection with other robberies. The suspects are expected to appear in court once investigations are concluded.
