Couple found dead in suspected murder-suicide at Oranjemund

Police in Oranjemund are investigating a suspected murder and suicide incident involving a couple who were reportedly known to have a history of domestic violence.

The incident occurred around 02h10 on Wednesday, at Bagdad location in Oranjemund.

According to the police, the bodies of a 31-year-old woman, Lizetha Kinda, and a 54-year-old man, Willem Jan Johannes Januarie, were discovered lying in a pool of blood with a firearm found between them by a passerby.

It is alleged that the female victim was four months pregnant at the time of her death.

The bodies were transported to the Oranjemund Private Hospital morgue for storage and autopsy. Both next of kin have been informed, and police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
