Police in Lüderitz are investigating a burglary at Desert Delhi restaurant in which suspects made off with more than N$40 000 in local and foreign currency.
The incident occurred on Friday, 26 September 2025, between 00h00 and 00h45 when two masked suspects allegedly broke open a window at the back of the premises using an unknown object.
According to a police report, the suspects entered the building, stole a safe and a blue money box from the manager’s office, and proceeded to another office where they took additional cash in Namibian dollars, US dollars, and Euros.
The total value of the stolen money is estimated at N$40 340.
No recoveries have been made and no arrests have yet been effected.
Police investigations are ongoing.
