Agribank says it will work with clients affected by the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) outbreak to find appropriate repayment arrangements and other support options.
This was said by Agribank’s chief executive officer, Robert Eiman, in a media statement on Monday.
Eiman said affected clients are encouraged to engage the bank about how the outbreak and related restrictions are affecting their operations.
“The Bank will work with each client to identify appropriate repayment arrangements and support options to protect and preserve the agribusinesses, guided by the policies and procedures,” he said.
He said support will not follow a one size fits all approach, with each request assessed according to the client’s circumstances.
“Any support to be extended to our clients will not follow a one-size-fits-all approach; each request will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, considering the client’s circumstances,” he said.
Eiman said early engagement with the bank could help identify practical solutions for affected clients during the outbreak.
“Through open and early engagement, we can identify practical solutions that support clients as we navigate this difficult period together,” he said.
Clients can approach their nearest or preferred Agribank branch for assistance.
The bank is also calling on farmers, communities, and businesses to comply with disease control measures to help contain the outbreak and restore normal livestock farming and trading conditions.
