President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah cast her vote this morning at Emma Hoogenhout Primary School in Windhoek, where she arrived accompanied by First Gentleman Lt. Gen. Epaphras Denga Ndaitwah and SWAPO Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa.
Speaking at the polling station, the President praised the calm and joyful atmosphere, noting that Namibians always approach elections with positivity and unity. She encouraged citizens across the country to turn out in large numbers, emphasising that voting is a powerful tool for personal and national prosperity.
Nandi-Ndaitwah said the decision to declare today a public holiday was made to ensure no Namibian is prevented from exercising their democratic right due to work obligations. She also called for peaceful participation, reaffirming Namibia’s reputation as a stable and democratic nation.
“Come out, go and vote. You vote for yourself, for your well-being,” she urged.
