todayNovember 17, 2025

Background

The High Court has struck an urgent application by the Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations from the roll after magistrates across the country denied under oath that they were on strike.

The ministry had approached the court alleging a work stoppage, but the application was withdrawn when no evidence of a strike could be found.

Ministry spokesperson Edmund //Khoaseb said operations at all magistrates’ courts are continuing as usual.

“We expect all Magistrates’ Courts to operate normally throughout the country. If you are seeking justice, you should receive services as usual,” //Khoaseb said.
