Oshana Regional Council has set aside N$800,000 to build 10 houses for low-income earners under the Build-Together Programme at Eheke Settlement Area.
The project aims to improve living conditions for residents and support government efforts to provide serviced land and decent housing for all Namibians.
The council’s spokesperson, Nuusita Ashipala, said the council has already allocated residential plots and business plots at Eheke.
“To date, the Council has successfully allocated 209 residential plots and 21 business plots at Eheke Settlement Area, paving the way for sustainable community development and local economic growth,” Ashipala said.
She added that the Build-Together Programme continues to be an important way to help low and middle-income earners get access to housing.
“The Council emphasized that the Build-Together Programme remains a vital tool in addressing the housing backlog, particularly for low and middle-income earners. As a Regional Government we are proud to be part of the national effort to ensure that every Namibian has access to a decent home,” says Ashipala.
Ashipala also urged those who have already received plots to start building their homes to speed up development in the area.
She said the council is currently finalizing administrative work before construction begins.
