The Cancer Association of Namibia is marking World Hospice and Palliative Care Day by launching new regional units and a fund to support vulnerable patients with compassionate care.
CEO Rolf Hansen highlighted the importance of accessible palliative care and said the new fund will help provide essential medication and services for patients most in need.
Renovations for a regional unit in Swakopmund are complete, with operations scheduled to begin in January 2026. The initiative is part of the association’s broader Palliative Care Namibia programme, aimed at ensuring patients receive comprehensive support from the point of diagnosis, not just at the end of life.
