President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has extended her condolences following the passing of prominent Walvis Bay businessman John Savva.
Savva, who died on Saturday, was alsoan honorary consul for Cyprus and Greece.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed heartfelt sympathy to the Savva family, as well as to the Cypriot and Greek communities, describing Savva as a man of generosity and commitment.
She said that Savva was a pillar of the Walvis Bay business community, who contributed significantly to the economic and social development of the Erongo Region through his enterprises, job creation, and support for community initiatives.
The president also highlighted Savva’s efforts in strengthening Namibia’s relations with international partners and his enduring friendship with the Swapo Party.
Nandi-Ndaitwah added that Savva believed deeply in Namibia’s story of independence, unity, and progress values that guided his life and service.
