President Nangolo Mbumba said the outgoing administration has made significant strides in addressing inequalities and ensuring the inclusion of previously disadvantaged groups in Namibia’s economy.
Mbumba made these remarks on Tuesday in Windhoek while addressing the final meeting of the outgoing Cabinet.
Mbuma said Namibia’s economic outlook remains positive, with the discoveries of oil and gas driving green industrialization.
“Today, I can proudly say that this administration has made significant strides in addressing inequalities and ensuring greater inclusion of previously disadvantaged groups in Namibia’s economy,” he said.
Mbumba said: “The economic outlook remains positive, driven by the discovery of oil, gas, and other mineral resources, as well as the vigorous promotion of green industrialization and a new economy.”
The President said the efforts to promote investment and economic growth over the past years have laid the foundation for a promising future.
“As Namibia’s economy continues to recover from the impacts of COVID-19, we can look forward to the transformative potential of green hydrogen and oil and gas discoveries, ushering in a new era of prosperity for the Namibian people.”
Mbumba added that Swapo’s manifesto will shape the agenda of incoming president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s administration.
“I am encouraged by Swapo’s’s forward-looking manifesto, which will shape the agenda of our President-elect, Comrade Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s incoming administration.”
“As a seasoned and proven leader, I have no doubt that she will continue to strengthen the peace and unity we have enjoyed for the past 35 years while ushering in a new era of economic growth and opportunities for all Namibians,” he said.
Nandi-Ndaitwah will be sworn in as Namibia’s fifth and first female head of state this Friday at Windhoek’s Independence Stadium.
